The man’s body was pulled from the Tesla late Thursday night after an hours-long recovery operation, according to Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company Chief Frank Farry.
The Bucks County Rangers and Bucks County Coroner’s Office are investigating the death.
On Thursday at 4:27 p.m., Bucks County 9-1-1 received a report from a kayaker that a vehicle was in the lake several hundred feet from the boat ramp area off Tollgate and Fulling Mill roads.

Firefighters and law enforcement, according to Farry, rushed to the scene and confirmed the Tesla was submerged.
Rangers used a boat that belonged to the George School and was stationed at the park to quickly make their way to the vehicle.

Farry said the Tesla was about 300 feet from the shore and some doors had opened.

Crews found the driver deceased inside and called the Bucks County Special Operations dive team to assist in the recovery effort.
Farry said a heavy rain storm and lake conditions led to the vehicle not being pulled onto the shore until 10 p.m.

Firefighters, Rob’s Towing, and airbags were used to remove the vehicle, Farry said.
The chief said the Tesla went in the water hours before it was discovered and a dog that was with the driver was found earlier in the day a short distance away and alive.

Farry called the recovery a “long and extensive operation” in the county park.

In addition to the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company and Bucks County Rangers, Middletown Township police, the Pennsylvania State Police, Middletown Township Department of Fire and Emergency Services, Lower Southampton Fire Company, Newtown Fire Rescue, Northampton Fire Department, and Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad assisted.
