Vehicle Collides With Utility Pole, Closes Bellevue Avenue During Morning Commute

A crash caused the closure of a busy local roadway during the Monday morning commute.

Bellevue Avenue in Penndel Borough was blocked between Joyce and Oak avenues following a crash where a driver who was suffering a medical event struck a utility pole, authorities said.

The pole was snapped near the base and was hanging by the lines attached.

Borough police reported no injuries resulting from the incident.

While the crash did not cause any injuries, it led to the closure of the road for repairs to the pole.

Verizon crews were dispatched to the scene to replace the damaged pole.

The road was expected to remain closed for several hours while the repairs are undertaken.

Firefighters blocked the road due to the crash.
