Teen Charged In Middletown Shooting

A 16-year-old Bensalem Township boy was charged as an adult recently with a 2020 shooting.

Middletown Township police were called on September 26 to the Snowball Gate neighborhood in the Levittown section for a robbery and shooting, according to court papers.

The incident was reportedly captured on video.

The 16 year old is accused by another juvenile of robbing him at gunpoint during a deal to purchase marijuana, police said.

During the incident, the 16 year old is accused of firing a single shot during a fight for a school bag held by the other juvenile. The 16-year-old boy allegedly gained control of the other boy’s backpack and made off.

Police said no one was struck by a bullet in the shooting.

The teen was arraigned last week by District Judge John Kelly on charges of robbery and possession of a firearm by a minor. He was sent to county lockup on 10 percent of $25,000.

According to court papers, the boy waived his charges to Common Pleas Court for trial.
