A woman died after crashing into the front of a long-term care facility Monday morning.
The crash happened around 8 a.m. at the Langhorne Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center on Manor Avenue in Langhorne Manor Borough.

The sedan slammed into the stone front porch of the administration section of the facility. The vehicle became wedged under the porch and a fire started in the engine compartment.
The woman behind the wheel, who was “heavily entrapped,” was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company Chief Frank Farry, who also serves as the fire marshal in Langhorne Manor, said crews were at the scene within three minutes and the fire was quickly put down.

The flames were contained to the engine compartment and it didn’t reach the cabin or badly damage the building, Farry said.
No residents were impacted, and the area of the facility where the crash happened is used for administration, Farry said.

The damaged vehicle was pulled from the building, and the coroner removed the woman’s body.
Farry said firefighters preparing for the Langhorne Memorial Day Parade were at the station and able to quickly make it over.
In addition to the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company, the Parkland, Penndel, Trevose, and William Penn fire companies responded along with Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad.

Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
