With the COVID-19 pandemic to blame, Levittown-area municipalities will receive less shares of PennDOT’s liquid fuels payments this year.
The funds are derived from the gas tax, but PennDOT officials noted that less fuel purchased last year due to the pandemic impacted revenues.

The state went from $487.5 million in liquid fuels payments in 2020 to $320.8 million in liquid fuels payments this year, according to PennDOT data.
Below is how much local towns will get:
- Bristol Borough โ $235,697.85 (Last Year: $255,535.02)
- Bristol Township โ $1,497,053.41 (Last Year: $1,619,941.84)
- Falls Township โ $874,821.44 (Last Year: $944,743.96)
- Hulmeville Borough โ $24,561.77 (Last Year: $26,453.83)
- Langhorne Borough โ $37,233.20 (Last Year: $40,099.93)
- Langhorne Manor Borough โ $45,081.27 (Last Year: $48,559.61)
- Penndel Borough โ $57,586.54 (Last Year: $62,022.90)
- Middletown Township โ $1,238,758.53 (Last Year: $1,334,255.66)
- Tullytown Borough โ $53,548.72 (Last Year: $57,678.14)
This year’s payments to Levittown-area towns total about $300,000 less than last year.

The liquid fuels payments can only be used for work on certain locally-maintained public roadways. The roads must meet certain dimension requirements and safety standards.
โThese critical investments help keep our communities safe and connected,โ PennDOT Secretary Yassmin Gramian said.

Pennsylvania has the fifth-largest state-maintained roads system in the nation. The network of local roads in the state is even larger and comes in at 72,992 miles, according to PennDOT data.
