A Lower Bucks County man accused of making “concerning statements” about Temple University while buying ammunition was sentenced to probation.
Patrick Buhler, 30, of Morrisville Borough, agreed to plead guilty to a single charge of misdemeanor harassment if prosecutors did not move forward with a terroristic threats charge. He was sentenced last month by Bucks County Judge Jeffrey Finley to one year of probation.

Tullytown Borough police, county, state, and federal law enforcement became involved in August 2019 after Buhler went to the Walmart off Levittown Parkway in Tullytown. He purchased .223 ammunition while making comments about security at Temple University and that something related to him would be on the news, authorities said.
Buhler was arrested by law enforcement and admitted that the incident at Walmart was “one big f**k up on my part,” authorities said.
Joseph Valvo, Buhler’s attorney, said his client made the comments in what amounted to a bad attempt at humor but didn’t account for the implications his statements would have.

“This was really a joke where someone was not as much scared but offended given the general social culture and stepped in to be extra safe as a citizen,” the attorney said, adding it was reasonable that the police were called after the comments were made.
