Trump Visits Newtown: ‘You’re Going To Remember This Rally’

Donald Trump was greeted like a rock star by his supporters when he came onto stage at his rally in Newtown Township Friday evening.

The Republican presidential nominee worked to make the case clear that he was the person to vote for over his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, on Tuesday, November 8.

The New York businessman and first-time political candidate said he plans to put America first, invest in growing jobs, renegotiate trade deals, strengthen the military, simplify the tax code, cut regulations, stop refugees from coming into the country, cut the flow of undocumented immigrants and deport some “bad dudes,” end common core and repeal and replace Obamacare.

“And yes, we will build the wall,” he said.

The Republican candidate, speaking in a county where recent a Bloomberg poll shows Trump behind Clinton, implored his voters to get out on election day and cast their ballot for him.

“Otherwise we’ve all wasted a lot of time and energy. I’ve wasted a lot of time and money. What’s happening in our country today is a disgrace,” Trump told the excited crowd.

During the roughly 30-minute speech at the Newtown Athletic Club Sports Training Center, Trump’s roughly 4,000 supporters cheered for him and echoed familiar chants of “lock her up” and “build that wall.”

Many members of the crowd booed when Trump mentioned Clinton and called her the “most corrupt person to ever run for president.”

Echoing his recent comments to “drain the swamp” of Washington D.C. insiders, Trump said he would work to enact ethic reforms.

“This is the last time we’re going to have a chance to win. This is it, folks,” Trump said. “A victory in November will be a victory for you. I didn’t need to do this. This is a lot of work.”

Trump told the crowd he would fight for every day people and not the special interest – “which I know well,” he told supporters.

“I am going to fight for every citizen in this nation. For every child living in poverty. For every mother who lost a child to illegal immigration, drugs and gang violence,” he said.

“I’m going to fight to bring us all together,” he said. “We’re going to love everybody.”

Trump said at the rally he wanted everyone to work together “under one god and one flag.”

Trenton and Philadelphia were topics of Trump’s stump speech. He said he would work to help intercities and bring jobs to the country.

“And remember the intercity and African American community,” he said. “Those communities have been ruled by Democrats – in some cases over a hundred years unbroken.”

Trump called to memory the iconic “Trenton Makes, The World Takes” sign over the Delaware River only a few miles from the Newtown event.

“We’re going to start making things in America again, and we’re going to start making things in Pennsylvania again,” he said.

“We will make America wealthy again. We will make American strong again. We will make America safe again. And we will make America great again.”

In a move reminiscence of a Saturday Night Live sketch, Trump stopped his speech to hug an American flag that was on stage as he promised to change the country.

The presidential candidate played into fears that the “system is rigged,” blaming the media in part.

“Does this offend you? Does this offend you?,” a man yelled at reporters working in the event’s media filing center overlooking the crowd.

As Trump jeered on the crowd, audience members also heckled the media as they covered the event from the camera risers as well.

Secret Service agents and security guards brought in by news agencies tensed up as Trump blamed he media and his supporters turned their attention to the filing center and risers.

“They are the most dishonest, they are dishonest people,” Trump said.

“F—k you,” an older man in a polo shirt yelled to journalists.

“You should be arrested, traitors,” a middle-aged man with a pony tail said to a NewtownPANow.com reporter.

“Is there any place more fun to be than a Trump rally?” the candidate asked the crowd shortly stating the system was rigged.

“You’re going to remember this rally for the rest of your life. This is a movement that you, and the media, will never forget. Too bad they won’t write honestly about it.”
