  1. How did you get into the business?
After graduating from Truman High School, I worked for 10 years as an agent at Weichert Realtors in Langhorne before deciding I wanted to own by own business. In 2011, I started Johnson Realtors using money from our retirement accounts. We bought a small office along New Falls Road and put up a sign. With my client base, I opened and we began selling businesses.
  2. What’s the best piece of sales advice you’ve ever been given?
Be true to yourself. I don’t look at myself as a typical sales person because I’m not pushy and I do not like being pushed myself. Being true to myself I seek out information, share it, and guide my clients to make the best decisions for them. I’m honest and very matter-of-fact about everything I do and I keep that attitude with those I work with.
  3. If you were craving an indulgent snack in town, where would you go and what would you get?
I love going out for Sushi with my husband and our friends. Hal Sushi Bar on Olive Street in Bristol is a great spot. It’s BYOB and the Dragon Roll is pretty awesome.
  4. What’s the best thing about selling homes in the area?
There’s a great sense of community wherever you go. Each neighborhood I go into I come across so many people who just love their home, their street, their schools, and their neighborhood. It’s energizing to see their pride.
  5. What’s the strangest thing that’s ever happened to you when showing a house?
I was showing a new construction property in Newtown when I was 8 1/2 months pregnant. The stair case in the 3 story home wasn’t complete and you could see all the way down to the basement from the top floor. My clients and I walked to the top with no problem but when it was time to go back down I froze. I couldn’t see my feet because my belly was so big and I was scared to walk down. They both practically carried me all the way down the 3 flights of stairs.
  6. How’s the market in Bucks County these days?
Great! Everything is on sale! In all seriousness, the market is gaining strength week-by-week. There’s still a need for more inventory but I hope more sellers will enter the market because there are a lot of buyers out there just waiting for their perfect home.
  7. What sets one real estate broker apart from another? And how are you unique?
Attitude. I love connecting my clients to their goals and enjoy 97% of what my job entails. That’s right, I admit it’s not 100% fantastic. There can be a lot of road blocks on the way to a home settlement and I do all I can to find a way around them. I like to stay positive and keep pushing to make things work for all parties involved in a transaction.
  8. What’s your advice to someone who’s looking to a buy a new home in the area right now?
Get pre approved for a loan first. Knowing your budget and having an idea of the money you’ll need to purchase a house before falling in love with a particular home can avoid a lot of stress and heartache. If you have a financial plan set, the rest will fall into place.
  9. What’s the most challenging part about your job?
For me personally? It’s finding balance and time for everything. I’m a mom to a 5 year old, with a baby girl on the way (due in April), working a full-time career while also managing the my family’s schedule. Busy? Yes! But boxing classes on the weekend keeps my stress down, and I have met the most wonderful people through the Bucks County community.
  10. How can customers contact you?
