Rink finished his motor carrier enforcement training last Friday in Harrisburg.
The course, which is run by the Pennsylvania State Police, teaches municipal police officers how to perform safety checks on commercial motor vehicles.
“The borough council and police department are excited to announce and congratulate Cpl. Rink on his hard work to pass this course,” the department said in a statement.

Rink will now begin a six-month mentorship with area police departments to become a fully certified motor carrier inspector.
“We wish him luck in his new job and thank him for taking on this new responsibility to ensure trucks on our roadways are being operated safely,” the department said.
