A number of roads and alleyways will be repaved this summer as part of Bristol Township’s annual road program.

Last Thursday evening, Bristol Township Council unanimously approved bids for the 2025 road paving program. They allocated $721,988 for the base contract and an additional $104,484 for alternate projects.
Philadelphia-based J.D. Morrissey submitted the low bid for the base paving program, which covers 10 streets throughout the township using liquid fuels funding from the state.
The base paving program includes Clyde Waite Drive, Avenue B, Mill Creek Road from Bristol Oxford Valley to Green Lane, Fleetwood Drive, Bloomsdale Road, Mitchell Road, Red Cedar Pass, Return Lane, Coventry Avenue from Cedar Avenue to Second Avenue, and Mill Creek Parkway from Haines Road to the dead end at the median.

Council approved all four alternate projects, which will be funded through the township’s general fund rather than state liquid fuels money.
Alternates one through three cover parking lot improvements at the sewer treatment plant following its recent expansion, while alternate four addresses alleyway paving in Bloomsdale for $104,484, according to Township Manager Randee Mazur.
The township also approved a separate $307,023 contract with T. Schiefer Contractors for the 2025 ADA curb ramp program, which will install accessibility improvements in Red Cedar and Bloomsdale neighborhoods.

Mazur noted that the curb ramp installation comes before road paving work.
“The 2025 curb ramp program would go in Red Cedar and in Bloomsdale Garden,” she said. “We always put these bids out together. It’s because the curb ramp program goes in first before the roads are completed.”

The township manager also provided updates on additional road work planned for 2025.
PennDOT will pave Edgely and Bristol-Oxford Valley roads as part of the state’s paving program, but the start dates remain pending contract finalization, Mazur said.
