The fire was reported around 8:30 p.m. at a residence in the 30 block of Shepherd Lane, with callers telling 9-1-1 that someone was trapped inside, said Carl Pierce, deputy chief of the Edgely Fire Company.

Firefighters found the blaze largely contained to the kitchen and extinguished it, Pierce said.

One resident was taken by the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad to a local hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation, he said.

The Bristol Township Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the blaze.

It took firefighters about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.

The home sustained heavy damage, Pierce said.
