The expansion at a local shopping center is to accommodate the growth of the businesses in it.

At the Falls Township Board of Supervisors meeting on Monday evening, the plan for a Trenton Road shopping center expansion received preliminary and final land development approval.
The Cosmos Restaurant and Bar owns the shopping center where the eatery is located and put forward the expansion plan.
The project involves adding 3,000 square feet to create a larger facility for the existing tenant, Action Karate. Once construction is completed, Eileen’s Academy of Dance will relocate to the space currently occupied by the karate school, according to attorney Michael Meginniss, who is working for the property owner.

While the restaurant and bar itself will not be expanding, the addition aims to expand the capacity of the shopping center.
As part of the expansion, the plan includes the planting of four new trees.

Meginniss explained the planning of the trees follows a neighborhood requests for “clear site access into the parking lot.” The property will also be adding some additional plants once the work is done.
The township would typically require 13 trees for such a project, but waivers were granted due to existing site conditions.
Township officials have described the expansion plans as “pretty standard.”
