James Pelissero of the Pittsburgh area and his daughter, Jennifer Gage of Levittown, are looking to open a second location for Two and a Fry, which sells milkshakes, hot dogs, burgers, fries, and similar menu items. The location being proposed is 8025 Mill Creek Parkway, which sits at the intersection with Falls-Tullytown Road.

The restaurant owners came before Falls Township Zoning Hearing Board on Tuesday evening seeking a number of variances, including related to a drive-thru, building setback, allow 28 parking places instead of the 36 required under township ordinance, and to permit a small outdoor dining area.

The design calls for keeping the existing building and having two driveways – one on Falls-Tullytown Road and one on Mill Creek Parkway. John Richardson, the engineer for the project, said the driveways are designed to be as far from the building as possible.

The engineer said he doesn’t expect any traffic stacking up into the roadways at the site, noting they will allow for more stacking room than required. The driveway on Mill Creek Parkway will be right in and right out only.

Bryce McGuigan, the attorney for the Two and a Fry, explained that the site is already zoned properly for the business.

If the project gets final approval and opens, Two and a Fry will have three to five employees per shift, including family members, Gage said.

The local resident planning to open the eatery said she hopes to run the fast food joint six days per week.

Gage explained that the name Two and a Fry comes from a deal that the business sells two hot dogs, fries, and a soda for $5.

“Their goal is to do the same thing they’re doing out by Pittsburgh and do it here in Levittown,” McGuigan said.

Residents raised concerns about the size of the property and about potential traffic issues with cars turning in and out of the restaurant.

“I just can’t even imagine a fast food restaurant being on that corner where people are coming in and out,” the one nearby resident said.

The property was once a residence and had served as a doctor’s office until a few years ago.

After hearing the testimony, the zoners approved the variance requests.

The plans will continue to move through land development before they come before the Falls Township Board of Supervisors.
