A Bristol Township woman was charged after her child was hurt in a dirt bike crash, police said.
On Thursday, July 28 at 8:11 p.m., Bristol Township police were called to a “critical” crash in the unit block of Iroquois Road in the township’s Levittown section. A dispatcher alerted a responding officer the crash involved a van and a dirt bike that had two people, with one being a small child, on it, according to court papers.

An officer arrived to the scene moments after the 9-1-1 call and met with the caller, who said the others involved were gone from the scene. The caller was the driver of the van that collided with the dirt bike, police said.
Officers reported checking the area and not locating the people who were on the dirt bike.
The van driver pointed officers to a cell phone that was left at the scene by a woman who was on the dirt bike, police said.

An officer called 9-1-1 from the phone and determine it belonged to Noelle Elizabeth Shultz, 29, of Bristol Township’s Levittown section. It was also determined the phone number had previously contacted 9-1-1, police said.
Officers went to the home where Shultz’s phone was linked to on Iroquois Road and a man answered. One of the officers asked if anyone was possibly involved in a crash and he answered his girlfriend, Shultz, and her daughter were in a dirt bike crash, police said.

After a few minutes, Shultz and the 8-year-old girl met with an officer and admitted to being in the crash. Shultz reported she was driving the dirt bike with the child on the vehicle, police said.
Shultz reportedly told officers the child had a helmet on at the time of the crash, while the passenger in the van said they never saw the child with a helmet.
In court papers, police said they didn’t locate a helmet at the scene.
Police said Shultz had an “odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating” from her.
The child had “obvious” injuries to her head, face, and arms, police said.

Shultz refused to let medics examine the injured girl, and an officer advised her to take her daughter to the hospital for evaluation, police said.
Shultz was uncooperative and agitated with officers being at her home, police said.

A police supervisor was advised of the incident and of the concern by responding officers to injuries to the 8-year-old girl, court papers stated.
The police sergeant arrived at Shultz’s home and advised her she needed to seek treatment for the girl, police said.

Shultz was reported to be argumentative, but said she and her boyfriend would take the girl to St. Mary Medical Center, according to police.
About an hour later, dispatchers advised law enforcement Shultz had taken the girl to Jefferson Bucks Hospital in Falls Township.

Police did not release the extent of the injuries to the girl.
The driver and passenger in the van were not reported to be seriously injured.
Court papers also stated that Shultz operated the dirt bike while her operating privileges were suspended, revoked, or cancelled.

Shultz was charged this month in relation to the late July crash with endangering the welfare of a child, reckless endangerment, accident involved damage to an attended vehicle, accident involved person injury, careless driving, and driving while operating privileges suspended or revoked. She was preliminarily arraigned by District Judge Kevin Wagner and released on $25,000 unsecured bail.
