Kids love technology, and it’s not uncommon for them to spend a lot of time on devices.
Teddy Tendler, 8, of Yardley, is no different. She loves technology, gaming, and also going outside.

In late April, she started a fundraising campaign to help those being served by the Family Service Association of Bucks County‘s emergency homeless shelter in Bristol Township as part of a project through her Hebrew school.
By the time her fundraising campaign that was promoted via social media wrapped up recently, she was able to purchase six laptops, six sets of headphones, a printer, paper, and ink to help those who are unhoused.
Teddy and her parents – Jared and Corey – were able to present the items to shelter staff recently.

โI chose this project because I love technology and I love helping others, it just makes my heart warm,” said Teddy. “I wanted kidsย who didn’t have computers, to be able to play the same online educational games that I get to at school.โ

The Family Service Association staff met Teddy and quickly realized how she was able to gather support so quickly.
โIt takes a lot of work and dedication for an adult to run a successful fundraising campaign,โ said Julie Dees, CEO of the Family Service Association. โThe fact that Teddy was able to do such a beautiful thing for our Shelter residents, completely on her own initiative, speaks volumes about her, as well as her amazing family.โ

Dees said the organization aims to provide the comforts of home, like technology, to shelter residents, who come from across Bucks County.
“This is especially important to the children, who often rely on computers for everything from education to de-stressing,” Dees stated.
