The National Weather Service advised the public of a threat of severe weather to start the holiday weekend.

“After a foggy start to the day we are still watching the conditional threat for severe weather this afternoon/evening,” forecasters said.
The system is expected to bring strong thunderstorms and damaging winds with gusts up to 60 mph. The storms also bring a slight risk of large hail, possible tornadoes, and flash flooding, with an inch or two of rain.
A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for Lower Bucks County.

Friday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 3pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Areas of fog before noon. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 81. South wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Friday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 1am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 1am and 5am, then a chance of showers after 5am. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Low around 65. South wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Saturday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 8am. Partly sunny, with a high near 79. West wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
