Bristol Borough is back!
Business owners in the riverside borough gathered last week at the newly expanded Itri Wood Fired to learn about promoting their businesses and a new marketing initiative titled “Destination Bristol.”

Representatives from local retailers, restaurants, bars, the town’s historic society, the Bristol Riverside Theater, the Grundy Museum, and ethnic festival planners were in attendance.
Bristol Borough: Raising the Bar, the nonprofit economic development organization, is looking to get back on track after the pandemic’s harshest disruptions and build upon several years of revitalization. The effort is aimed at “recapturing the pre-pandemic energy level that led the town to win a national main street contest.”
The borough’s central business district, Mill Street, has seen several new businesses open and several expansions over the past year.

“Watching our individual businesses work during the pandemic was inspiring,” said Bill Pezza, president of Raising the Bar. “Not only did our existing core survive, the number of establishments in the Mill Street commercial district actually grew. But it wasn’t easy. Proprietors understandably focused their energy and resources on their personal survival.”
Raising the Bar is looking to put up a billboard in conjunction with Visit Bucks County, updating Bristol Borough’s tourism website, and hosting marketing seminars from the organization and Bucks County Community College’s Innovation Department.
“The website will be updated weekly and will include links to businesses in Bristol’s hospitality industry as well as information about festivals, performances, and special events,” said Craig Whitaker, a Raising the Bar board member.

“We’ve tapped into a group of highly talented and dedicated entrepreneurs,” Pezza stated. “We want to foster a climate where the major players recognize that we’re much stronger when we support each other and speak with one voice.”
