Bucks County saw its third straight week of dropping COVID-19 cases.
Cases fell about 25 percent over the prior week from 895 to 675 new infections, according to data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

During the same period last year, there were 465 new COVID-19 infections.
Last week, the COVID-19 test positivity rate in the county decreased from 6.5 percent to 6 percent. A test positivity rate higher than 5 percent means health experts consider the spread uncontrolled.
The state health department reported nine COVID-19 deaths in Bucks County last week.

As of Tuesday, there were 78 hospitalizations of people with COVID-19 in Bucks County. Among those patients, 16 were in intensive care and 10 were on ventilators, according state data. The numbers are similar to those the week prior.
The number of fully vaccinated people in Bucks County jumped by more than 2,600 last week, a rise over the week prior.

According to state data, a total of 45,630 Bucks Countians were partially vaccinated and 346,878 were fully vaccinated at the start of this week.
The number of third doses and booster shots administered continued to rise. Since they were approved in mid-August, a total of 42,338 additional doses were administered in Bucks County, a jump of about 50 percent over the previous week.
Thorough the start of September, early all people who died of COVID-19 or were hospitalized with the novel virus in recent months were not fully vaccinated, state health officials said.
