The amount of new COVID-19 infections last week in Bucks County dropped over the prior week.
According to data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health, there were 1,055 new cases in Bucks County last week. The new case number marked a 16 percent decrease over the prior week.

The number of new cases last week was significantly higher than this time last year. There were 265 infections reported over the same period in 2020.
The COVID-19 test positivity rate in the county rose from 6.7 percent to 7.1 percent last week. A test positivity rate higher than 5 percent means health experts consider the spread uncontrolled.
As of Tuesday, hospitalizations of people with COVID-19 in Bucks County rose to 94. Among those 94 patients, 6 were in intensive care, according state data.

There were six reported COVID-19 deaths in Bucks County last week, per state data.
The Bucks County Health Department reported 131 kids between the ages of newborn to 12 had COVID-19 and 76 cases were confirmed among those ages 12 to 18 last week.

A total of 1,443 more Bucks Countians were fully vaccinated for COVID-19 last week. As of this week, there were a total of 42,880 Bucks Countians who were partially vaccinated and 342,282 were fully vaccinated at the start of this week, according to state data.
There were more than 5,100 third doses or boosters administered in the county last week.
Data released by state health officials last month showed that nearly all people who died of COVID-19 or were hospitalized with the novel virus in recent months were not fully vaccinated.
