Bucks County had some good news over the past week.
Bucks County had 1,579 new COVID-19 infections last week, a 20 percent drop over the previous week, according to data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Bucks County saw a surge in cases over the winter holidays, a drop in the weeks after, and then an increase in early spring.
Bucks County had its test positivity rate drop from 10.6 percent to 9.5 percent last week. Pennsylvania also had the statewide test positivity rate drop by a point to 8.6 percent. Health officials consider any percent over 5 percent very concerning.
Bucks County recorded 18 deaths of COVID-19 patients last week, according to state data.

Bucks County saw a more than 15 percent drop in hospitalizations. At the end of last week, 97 Bucks Countians were in area hospitals with COVID-19.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 57,668 COVID-19 cases and 1,230 deaths.
