A Middletown Township man has been accused of raping a woman last year, according to court papers filed this week.
The 25-year-old man was arraigned Tuesday afternoon before District Judge Daniel Baranoski on charges of rape of an unconscious person, sexual assault, indecent assault without consent, and indecent assault.

In an affidavit of probable cause filed by Middletown Township police, a woman went to multiple Levittown-area bars with two friends and met the 25-year-old man. She had consumed food and alcohol throughout the night of February 23, 2020.
The woman said she was planning to stay at a friend’s house and the 25-year-old man persisted in driving her to her friend’s residence. She stated he put his hand on her leg during the ride and she became upset and asked him not to do that, according to police.
The woman and the 25-year-old man arrived at her friend’s house in Middletown Township’s Langhorne section and went inside, police said.

The woman “lost consciousness” and awoke in her friend’s bedroom with the 25-year-old man raping her, police said.
The woman told a detective that she recalled putting clothes on and running out of the house.

Police said the woman went to Lower Bucks Hospital in Bristol Township for a sexual assault examination last year following the alleged incident.
“[The 25-year-old man] is a fine young man who has never been in trouble,” said attorney Lou Busico, who is representing the 25-year-old man. “He strongly maintains his innocence.”
The 25-year-old man had bail set at $1 million unsecured and he was released.
