Bucks County Chief Operating Officer Margaret McKevitt wrote in an email to leadership and row officers that the measures fall in line with the state’s recent teleworking where possible order.

Bucks County Commissioner Chairperson Diane Ellis-Marseglia emailed supervisors and advised them to operate โ€œwith very minimal staff and by appointment.โ€

โ€œAs you well know, government cannot truly shut down, but we can manage to meet the need with Zoom, email, texting, etc.,โ€ Marseglia said. โ€œWhen it is impossible to be virtual, please remember it is mandatory for all staff to wear face coverings and maintain social distances.โ€

The county has seen numerous employees fall ill due to the COVID-19 over the months. There was a recent group of cases in the Justice Center and a county ranger died from the virus in spring.
