As cold weather settles into the region, Jay’s Steak and Hoagie Joint in Parkland, Middletown Township and Odd Logic Brewing Company in Bristol Borough are teaming up to help their neighbors.
Jay’s Steak and Hoagie Joint is donating 5 percent of sales this month and Odd Logic Brewing is donating $.25 cents from every pint sold in November to heating the homes of local families in need. The businesses are teaming up with Big Oak Fuel to identify families that need help in this unprecedented time of need.
Aside from Jay’s Steak and Hoagie Joint location at 1205 Highland Avenue, Parkland, PA 19047, the shop’s food truck will be stationed Sundays through Thursdays during November outside of Odd Logic Brewing Company at 500 Bristol Pike (Route 13), Bristol, PA 19007.
“There’s really no easier way to help our neighbors than getting a fresh cheesesteak and enjoying it with a beer. Fill your belly and help your neighbors. There’s a greater need than ever before this year,” Jay’s Steak and Hoagie Joint owner Jay Green said.
“Jay and I are both super active in our communities with various charitable efforts, so it was a no-brainer to join forces to help heat some homes this winter, as well donate to the local food banks.” said Tim Shaw, owner of Odd Logic Brewing Company.
Last year, Jay’s Steak and Hoagie Joint and its customers raised $3,000 to heat local families homes in the winter with more than 1,500 gallons of heating oil. Last year, portions of the sales from Jay’s Steak and Hoagie Joint’s menu went toward purchasing close to 7,640 pounds of food for those in need. Since 2014, that number has totaled around 68,000 pounds of food.
In addition, $.25 cents from each of Jay’s Steak and Hoagie Joint’s famous pretzel roll sales go to charity. Those funds will help local food banks in Lower Bucks County.
Jay’s Steak and Hoagie Joint is also working with local businesses on a fresh blend of coffee and a special beer to raise funds to help the community.
While the Parkland location has a full menu with 60 signature gluten free options, the food truck does not have gluten free options.
