Falls Township has been delivered a subpoena to compel the municipality to turn over documents as part of a law enforcement probe.

LevittownNow.com has not reviewed a copy of the subpoena but has spoken with several people with knowledge of the document and the investigation.

The subpoena requests the township produce a range of documents dating back at least six years. The documents have to be turned over to investigators within the next few weeks, sources said.

The subpoena was delivered earlier this month by a special agent from the FBI and another from the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, sources told this news organization.

“Falls Township has no comment,” a spokesperson for the municipality said Monday.

Several sources said over the weekend that special agents have made other stops in Bucks County as part of the investigation in the past month. It was not clear if other subpoenas were delivered.

In July, LevittownNow.com published an article that FBI special agents, state police, and Bucks County Detectives have spoken with several people close to Falls Township and the Pennsbury School District. Several people said investigators asked them about matters related to local government and politics, unions, contractors, political donations, and recent problems in the Pennsbury School District. The investigation also has apparent ties to Montgomery County.

Since that article was published, sources have stated that the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office has also played a role in the probe.

Previously, law enforcement officials have declined to comment on the investigation or even confirm the existence of the investigation.
