Bucks County Board of Election officials will be hosting public training sessions to familiarize the public with the new voting systems.
The county will host 12 events across the lower, central, and upper end starting in late February and ending in late April.

The sessions will allow the public to learn more and experience the Clear Ballot system. The system replaces the previous one and uses hand-marked paper ballots that are fed into a scanner for recording. Aside from the electronic record, the paper ballots are also retained.
The Clear Ballot system also includes a ballot-marking device for each polling place for voters who require ADA provisions, county officials said.
In December, the Bucks County Commissioners approved spending $5.22 million to acquire machines from Boston-based Clear Ballot. The contract also includes services relating the voting machines, hardware, software, shipping and handling, and post-warranty maintenance and fees, county spokesperson Larry King said at the time.

In April 2018, the Pennsylvania Department of State notified every county that they needed to have voting systems that provide a paper record by the end of 2019. The new machines are to be in use no later than the 2020 primary and need both federal and state certification.

The county is planning a separate schedule of trainings for poll workers.
