Students in Bristol Borough and Bristol Township will benefit from Pennsylvania Department of Education grants that will fund 21st Century Community Learning Centers.
The Bristol Borough School District will receive $165,000 and the Lower Bucks Family YMCA, which runs the program in the Bristol Township School District, will get $91,200.

“Twenty-first Century Learning Center grants provide critical investments for communities to expand educational opportunities for students and families,” Pennsylvania Education Secretary Pedro Rivera said. “This year’s recipients were selected with an emphasis on improving educational equity and expanding the geographic reach of Pennsylvania’s programs. As a result, more students across the state will have access to wellness, literacy, and career and technical education programs, among others.”
The 21st Century Community Learning Centers program receives taxpayer funds to provide students in schools with additional services to meet state and local standards.
The money granted in Bristol Borough and Bristol Township came from a total of $22 million doled out this week.
