In December, the Falls Township Board of Supervisors are likely to consider updates to a number of the local government’s zoning ordinance.

The township staff and attorneys have been looking over the current zoning ordinance and finding what parts need the most updating, officials said.

The Board of Supervisors votedย unanimously earlier this month to advertise the proposed changes, including updating sections relating toย stormwater management, Earth disturbance, regulation and placement ofย PODS and dumpsters, rights of way, and tree protection standards.

โ€œTownship staff and professionals have done a very through review of our zoning ordinance,โ€ Supervisor Chairman Bob Harvie said. โ€œIt requires updating โ€ฆ Our sign ordinance, which has been around forever, didnโ€™t say anything about electronic signs because they didnโ€™t exist (when it was adopted).โ€

The changes are intended toย โ€œclean up inconsistencies” in theย ordinance, solicitorย Lauren Gallagher.
