Cashews, which are related to poison ivy, come from a fruit on the plant. The shell of the cashew carries irritants that cause itchiness, which is why cashews are sold without shells and roasted. Cardolite Corporation, according to the their website, uses cashew shell liquids to create curing agents, resins and modifiers, blocking agents, and other commercial products.
