In Sunday evening’s episode of the rebooted singing competition, Turner, an 18-year-old Neshaminy High School senior, learned she survived the infamous Hollywood Week.

The Middletown resident performed her original song “Pity” for the judges. She said the song was written after a male peer told her to get in the kitchen and make a sandwich.

The judges had a positive reaction to the performance.

“That girl is the unique of the unique,” country superstar and show judge Luke Bryan said.

The Sunday episode highlighted Turner’s friendship with contestant Noah Davis. The clip shows off Turner’s bubbly personality.

“At school I’m a nobody so to come here and have people actually accept me for who I am is an amazing feeling,” Turner told the camera.

On Monday evening’s episode, the judges will narrow the field down to the top 24 contestants.
