Law officials charged an El Salvadorian citizen last week after an investigation revealed his alleged illicit drug trade involvement.
Oseas Rodriguez, 34, of Levittown is a citizen of El Salvador, was investigated as part of a joint effort facilitated by a number of law enforcement organizations including the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General, court papers state.

Rodriguez held a temporary protected status that expired days after his arrest. Temporary protected status is available to citizens of designated countries when they fulfill certain requirements. Individuals protected cannot be detained by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on the basis of their immigration status. El Salvador was designated for the status after earthquakes in 2001 did immense damage to the country. The Trump administration has announced that the central-American nation’s designation will end in September of 2019, according to information from the federal government.
In the middle of February 2018, a confidential informant told authorities that a drug trafficking organization in Levittown was getting prepared to deliver a sample to an informant, according to court papers.
As part of the investigation, an undercover switched places with the informant and Rodriguez allegedly delivered the sample to the undercover agent, authorities said.

After receiving the sample, authorities tested the sample as heroin and the supplier as Rodriguez, authorities said.
The same undercover agent arranged the purchase of two kilograms of heroin for $106,000. Leading up to the pricey sale, the undercover agent communicated with Rodriguez regularly to work out the logistics of the sale. The sale was set for February 28. Rodriguez described the Rite Aid parking lot where the deal was supposed to go down as “hot,” investigators noted in court papers.

The sale never happened with Rodriguez directing the undercover agent to leave the parking lot where the trade was set to go down, authorities said.
Rodriguez was charged with conspiracy charge, possession with the intent to deliver, making a criminal attempt to promote, four counts of criminally using a communications facility, and related offenses.
Rodriguez was arraigned last Thursday and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $500,000 bail.
