Wawa Interested In New Location Along Levittown Parkway

Popular convenience store chain Wawa has its eyes on Tullytown.

Wawa has submitted plans to borough officials that include a convenience store and gas pumps at the corner of the Levittown Town Center access road that links to Kenwood Drive and Levittown Parkway.

Borough Coordinator Alison Smith said Wawa has been going through the land development process and is expected to come before the Council next month.

After coming before zoning and planning officials, Wawa has altered the plans to better fit traffic concerns at the already busy intersection.

The 1.4 acre site Wawa is hoping to build on is currently occupied by Hesski Service Center, but no agreement of sale has been signed, said service station owner John Hetzel.

Right at the moment. we’re not moving,” Hetzel said. “We’re open for business.”

Hesski Service Center has been open since 1982. However, the corner lot has been used as a service station since 1952 before the Levittown Shop-O-Rama opened.

Currently, Wawa operates nine locations within five miles of the Tullytown site.
