Bristol Borough’s 2018 proposed budget will be voted on at the Council meeting scheduled for Monday, December 11.

The spending plan is expected to be adopted and does not contain any tax increase. The millage rate will continue at 35 mills, where it has stayed since 2014.
In 2018, the borough is expecting revenues at $5,404,022, while expenditures will clock in at $5,618,148. The extra $200,000 is expected to come from an end of the year balance, according to James Dillon, the borough manager.
Departments work all year long to keep an eye on their expenditures, keeping costs in line, Dillon said.

The borough is unable to do anything to help rising costs associated with union labor agreements and medical insurance costs increases, according to Dillon. The total percent these will increase will not be clear until the end of the year.
Balancing the borough budget is a continual challenge for all borough officials, Dillon explained.
