2,000 People Stop At Middletown’s National Night Out

The threat of summer storms did not stop approximately 2,000 people from attending Middletown’s National Night Out event Tuesday evening.

While no rain fell ended up falling, a thunder boom and some flashes of lightning were spotted from a distance as the crowd enjoyed the festivities outside the Municipal Building.

National Night Out featured township police, volunteer firefighters, the fire marshal’s office, vendors, the Neshaminy Federation of Teachers, the Detective Christopher Jones Foundation, the Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad, the U.S. Army and several eateries selling their delicious menu items.

Officer Melissa Robison, who organized the event, said the National Night Out was a success.

National Night Out is a nationwide campaign to promote and encourage positive police and community interactions. Middletown has taken part for several years with last year being the first at the township complex.
