The opening marks a 2017 which has a lot of new things to offer families. One of the new additions for 2017 is a pin trading program, similar to the one in the Disney Parks. Park attendees can visit Mr. Hooper’s emporium to buy the official pins. New pins will be introduced throughout the season.
โWeโre excited to be the first park in the company to launch a pin trading program,โ said Bob Caruso, park president. โ1-2-3 Trade With Me is a fun way for our guests to interact with our team members.ย ย We look forward to seeing how families build their pin collections over the years to come.”
Another addition to the park is Elmo’s Springtacular. During weekends from May 6 through June 18, the park will be transformed into a different type of adventure from Elmo’s imagination. A new show, Elmo and the Bookaneers will debut during pirate weekend.

Even as it nears its 40th year in operation, Sesame Place continues to appear to be a popular destination for families. License plates from all over the country fill in the parking lots.
“Sesame Street has been a childhood staple for almost five decades, so we’re seeing families now who once visited as a kid come back with their kids. ย It’s such a great place to visit for families, and not to mention, it’s one of the only places in the U.S. where you can get a hug from Elmo,” said Dana Ryan, the associate manager for public relations at the park.
