Police Work To ID Pedestrian Struck, Killed Along Route 13

Tullytown police were working Sunday evening to identify the man killed when he was struck by a vehicle on Route 13 the night prior.

The man, according to Chief of Police Daniel Doyle, appeared to be in his 20s. DNA and fingerprints were taken to help investigators identify the deceased.

The man was struck in the lanes of travel on busy Route 13 near the Home Depot shortly before 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Doyle said the driver of the striking vehicle did not appear to be intoxicated and was extremely cooperative with officers. He added the driver volunteered his cell phone for review to confirm he was not distracted at the time of the crash.

The crash closed Route 13 in the area for several hours Saturday night.

Doyle said police are still seeking witnesses and requested they call Officer John Tridle at 215-945-0999.
