Helen Cini saw Levittown mature through the years – as a wife, a mother and an active community member.
The 85-year-old Bristol Township resident and school board member passed away Christmas Eve at St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown. The cause of her death was not immediately released.

Cini recently was sworn in for her final term last December and had devoted 25 years of her life to serving on the school board. She was an advocate for students and often raised concerns on how tax increases and spending plans would impact those with low-income levels and those on fixed incomes.
School Board President Angela Nober said that Cini spend her life volunteering in the community. “She truly lived a life of service.”
The following statement was released by the school district:
Bristol Township School District mourns the passing of Helen M. Cini who loyally served on the School Board for 25 years. Helen had served as our liaison with the Bucks County Intermediate Unit, on the board of Bucks County Technical High School, and she was an active part of our Finance Committee. Akin to the children’s book series “Where’s Waldo,” Helen could be seen everywhere – our concerts, special school events and dedications. She will be dearly missed all.

Cini moved to Levittown from Philadelphia in 1956 and stayed in the community. A 2011 USA Today article featuring Cini noted she had lived in four different Levittown neighborhoods throughout her life.

In 2015, Cini was recognized by the Pennsylvania School Board Association for her years of dedicated service to the community and children.
