Pennsbury High School alumni are among a local group of Ultimate Frisbee players about to go to India to coach a young team for a national tournament.
Shawn Dacey, Jake Doyle, Marc Sands, Paul Klimkowski, Jake Price and Gabe Price are the six young men set to go to India to coach a young team and hold clinics on Ultimate Frisbee. Dacey, Doyle, Sands and Klimkowski are all recent graduates of Pennsbury High School in Falls Township as well as professional Ultimate Frisbee players.

Put on by Major League Ultimate (MLU), the program allows for knowledge and enthusiasm for Ultimate to be spread by players of the game. This trip will last from December 19 through January 13. During that time, in addition to coaching Abhay Ghata, the club team out of Ahmedabad, India, the players will be conducting clinics, pick up games and after school programs.
“It means a lot to me,” said Dacey. “If I can spread the love of the sport, then that’s awesome.”
In the past decade, Ultimate Frisbee has grown in popularity in India. The country now more than 40 club teams with some even competed in the world championship.

Ultimate Frisbee is a unique sport due to its nature as self officiating and mixed gender terms of play.
In addition to getting the chance to spread love of the game, this will also be Dacey’s first trip out of the country.

Playing since his sophomore year at Pennsbury, Dacey has been involved with Ultimate Frisbee for about six years.
The group is still raising money for their trip via a GoFundMe page. The raised money will be used to cover travel expenses plus any kind of unexpected expenses that the group needs to conduct clinics and training for the kids they are coaching.
