An apparently dangerous man was taken off the streets of Bristol Township Monday night by Bristol Township detectives and patrol officers.
Police said they responded to two robberies in the township Monday evening within an hour of each other. Both involved victims who said they were robbed by a money-demanding suspect with a black handgun.

The first victim was robbed on Naomi Court in Levittown and lost $4,200 in cash, his cellphone and wallet. The second victim was robbed on Leedom Avenue in Bristol and told investigators the suspect stole $4,600 in cash. Both victims gave detectives the same suspect description, according to police.
The two robberies happened after the victims met with the suspect after responding to a Craigslist ad to buy a 2004 Honda Civic, according to court papers.
Through an “intensive investigation,” police said they discovered McShane was their suspect. He was reported to be at a bar in the 500 block of Veterans Highway, which is just one block from the second robbery location.

Two detectives entered the bar and watched McShane. Another officer called the 29 year old’s cellphone so detectives could confirm they had the right guy inside the bar.
When uniformed patrol officers and detectives went to take McShane into custody, he allegedly put up a struggle before being detained.

Lt. Terry Hughes said investigators found bundles of $1,374 and $4,002 in cash, a fully loaded .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun and items from the robbery victims.
The two victims confirmed McShane was the man who robbed them once they saw him following his arrest, police said.
While at the holding cell at the police station on Bath Road, McShane fought with officers in a failed attempt to escape. One officer was injured during the escape attempt.

“This was a case of really good police work,” Hughes said.
McShane was arraigned before District Judge Joanne Kline and sent to prison on 10 percent of $250,000 bail. He was also detained on a bench warrant out of Philadelphia.
