The Pennsylvania State Police trooper allegedly shot by Eric Frein in 2014 was a in attendance at Tuesday night’s State Of The Union address.
Trooper Alex Douglass was a guest of Senator Pat Toomey, a Republican.

Douglass was provided a seat in the Congressional gallery for President Barack Obama’s final State Of The Union. Senators are allowed to invite one guest to the address every year.
“I am delighted that Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Alex Douglass is here with me in Washington, D.C. to attend the State of the Union address tonight! We spent some time in my office, and then headed over to the Capitol for dinner before the address,” Toomey’s Facebook read.
Douglass also made an appearance on Fox News Channel. He told host Greta van Susteren about his recovery after the shooting outside state police barracks in Blooming Grove, Pike County.

Frein was captured after a weeks-long manhunt throughout northeastern Pennsylvania. He is currently awaiting trial for the shooting.
