A Trenton woman was charged with trying to escape from Falls Township police custody.
Starquasi Harris, 20, was taken into custody last Monday at 1:47 a.m. by Falls Officer Stephanie Metterle after responding to an assistance call from Morrisville. Harris was initially taken into custody by Morrisville officers on receiving stolen property allegations.

Harris was searched for contraband before being loaded into Metterle’s vehicle.
While Metterle was transporting Harris to the Falls police station in her patrol car, she noticed the 20 year old was moving around in the back seat. When asked, Harris said she was doing “nothing,” according to court papers.

Once at the police station, Metterle noticed Harris had moved her handcuffs to the front of her body and was using a bobby pin from her hair to pick the lock. The bobby pin was altered and twisted, authorities said.
