The images captured by Visit Bucks County as part of the Google Trekker program are now live.
The tourism agency was selected by Google to be one of the first areas to participate in their new trekker program back in May. The images, which were taken with a camera system attached atop a backpack, captured 360 degree views of beautiful Bucks County landscapes not available by car.

The images, which were sent back to Google about six months ago, had to be put back together like a puzzle before appearing for the first time online in late October. Visit Bucks County, in all, snapped amazing picturesque views across 13 Bucks County destinations as part of the project.
Visit Bucks County Vice President Paul Bencivengo noted the pieced-together, walking-tour of the counties parks would provide an educational tool not only for students and those who โlove cool technology,โ but an interactive tool for the tourism agency to promote area attractions.ย โWe tend to target those in the New York and Philly area, who may want to check out the parks before they visit,โ he told LevittownNow.com.
“Starting today, people all over the world are able to explore the beauty of Bucks County in Google Maps,” said Deanna Yick, Google Maps Street View Program Manager upon release of the images to the web. “We hope this virtual tour inspires them to visit in person.”
