A routine traffic stop led to nearly a dozen charges for a Levittown man, according to police.
Adrian Eugene Thompson, 24, was charged Sunday with prohibited possession of a firearm, drug related charges, and driving summary charges. He was arraigned and sent to prison on 10 percent of $75,000 bail.

Middletown Township police reported in an affidavit of probable cause that they were patrolling the intersection of New Falls Road and Veterans Highway when they noticed a van being driven with a cracked windshield and a burned out fog light.
Police initiated a traffic stop at the nearby Wawa in Levittown and identified the driver as Thompson, a convicted felon. An affidavit notes that police observed an open bottle of Ciroc vodka in the vehicle as well as a strong odor of marijuana. Thomspon told officers nothing illegal would be found inside, according to police documents.
Upon a search of the vehicle, police discovered bags containing suspected crack cocaine and marijuana, as well as a silver Colt 10mm firearm with a loaded magazine inside. Police wrote in court documents that because Thompson is a convicted felon, he is prohibited from possessing a firearm.

While discovering these items, Thompson began running across Bristol-Oxford Valley Road. A foot pursuit began and Thompson was apprehended a short time later in the woods behind the Exxon. More than $300 was discovered in Thomspon’s pocket, court documents state.
Thompson awaits a preliminary hearing set for November 19.
