The Newportville Fire Company in Bristol Township has been awarded a federal grant.
The $19,334 in FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant program funds will help the fire company provide resources for department operations and safety.

“Pennsylvania’s firefighters endure risk and sacrifice every day to keep their community safe,” Senator Bob Casey said. “This money will help provide Bucks County’s firefighters with the resources they need to ensure their safety and the safety of those they serve.”
Assistance to Firefighters Grants are distributed by FEMA, which is overseen by the Department of Homeland Security, and assist local crews protect the community, according to officials.
