
When Pennsylvania State Trooper Lee Nolan was attempting to pull over a Dodge Charger on Lincoln Highway Tuesday, he got a white powdery substance thrown onto his patrol car. It was later confirmed by field tests the powder was cocaine, according to authorities.
Ronald James, 47, of Levittown, was charged with three misdemeanors offensesย and two driving related offenses; including fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, tampering with evidence and possession of a controlled substance. He remains in theย Bucks County Correctional Facility unable to post 10 percent of $300,000 bail.

Nolanย noted in a probable cause affidavit that he was traveling southbound on Route 1 ย in Falls Township around 1 p.m. Tuesday when he observed a blue Dodge Charger traveling in the right lane at 74 mph in a 55 mph zone. When the officer ran the vehicle’s registration and connected the owner to the driver, he discovered James was operating the vehicle under a suspended license.
It was then that the officer attempted to pull the vehicle over. According to court documents, the vehicle failed to yield to the officer’s flashing lights and instead continued to travel down the busy roadway at a high rate of speed.
According to police, James threw a small black plastic bag out of the driver sideย window before reaching out of the driver side window and emptying a clear plastic baggie filled with a white powdery substance. According to the officer, the powdery substance sprayed onto his patrol car. The officer noted that James was traveling 23 mph over the speed limit when he emptied the bag.

After emptying the contents, James pulled over to the right shoulder south of I-95 in Middletown where he was immediately placed into custody and charged. The officer noted James was covered in a white substance on his hands and clothes when he was taken into custody.
Middletown Township Police Department was able to retrieve enough of the substance on the state trooper’s car in order to conduct a field test. The substance later tested positive for cocaine.
