Penndel Borough’s Councilwoman Kali Sodano has made it her mission to bring Penndel up to speed when it comes to their digital presence.

Last month, Sodano announced what she’s spent months working on – a new website organization plan.

The borough, which currently does have a website, has heard complaints from residents and non-residents before over it’s website’s confusing nature, or lack of information. Sodano hopes her plan will help solve those issues.

Sodano remarked to council that she plans to spend even more time reviewing the plans with them, hoping to get useful feedback from everyone involved in the borough of just a little over 2,000 residents.

The plans, which won’t redesign the website, will help organize it, making it easier for resident and non-residents to find the information they are looking for. According to Sodano, a big way to do this is with changing up the navigation tool-bar on the site’s left side.

By combining tabs and adding others, Sodano hopes the borough will be able to achieve an online presence more suitable for an organized and streamlined borough – and she hopes to do it without cost.

Sodano remarked last month that most changes could be made by staff through the back-end of WordPress, while more technical issues could be dealt with using WordPress or hosting IT support.

The reorganization of the site would provide borough officials with an official email address, which Solicitor Mike Savona remarked as a “necessity”, and a page for updated borough news as well as a list of important area services, or a new-resident’s guide.

Many borough members, including Councilwoman Beverly Wolfe and Barbara Heffelfinger remarked that Sodano worked very hard on the project and “did a great job”.
