A Fairless Hills woman who police said left her children at the Chuck E. Cheese in Middletown will go through a program for first-time offenders.

Jana Melcher, 44, was admitted to the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) program for first-time, nonviolent offenders recently. She was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of children.

According to a police criminal complaint, Middletown officers were called to the local children’s restaurant and discovered that Melcher was with other adults when she left the kids behind at the Chuck E. Cheese to go shopping.

About two hours later, Melcher was the eatery looking for the children, court papers state. Police and Bucks County Children and Youth were also there investigating the incident.

The children were unhurt in the incident.
