The Neshaminy School District will be holding informational meetings for parents of fourth and fifth grade students who will be attending middle school come September.
The district said in a social media post that parents and guardians of students who will be Maple Point, Carl Sandburg and Poquessing middle schools will lean about the transition from Assistant Superintendent Dr. Gloria Hancock. Those in attendance will also be able to ask questions.

The first meeting will take place Thursday March 19 at 6:30 in the library at Sandburg, the second at Maple Point is scheduled for Monday, March 23 at 6:30 in the auditorium and the third will take place at Poquessing in April. No date for the Poquessing has yet been announced.
The school board voted in October to approve a controversial plan that would fifth-graders to the middle schools starting in the 2015-2016 school year. While some supported the plan, many spoke at meetings against the plan and questioned if fifth graders were ready to be in the same environment as eight graders. District officials said they plan to study the move and whether it works.
Administration from the district have been planning the move since fall and are working to get teachers and curriculum prepared for the move.
