Falls Township has recently announced the launch of a campaign geared at promoting local businesses and encouraging its residents to purchase locally.
The campaign, which is a joint effort between the Falls Township Board of Supervisors and the Community and Economic Development Committee, is aptly titled “Live Here, Spend Here.” It is the campaign’s objective to encourage residents to spend more, if not all, of their money within the borders of the township.

The Board of Supervisors, which discussed further ideas for the campaign and it’s execution at their Tuesday council meeting, plans to promote one business each month through a five minute long video. The video will appear on the township’s website and cable access channel, as well as be promoted through the township’s social media pages.
Vice Chairman Jeffry Dence, who has helped to design the program, got the idea through working in Burlington County, New Jersey. The county operates a similar campaign by placing it’s logo in local store windows.
Dence suggested that the township should follow in Burlington County’s footsteps by even allowing residents to be a part of the logo design process.

Dence commented that if each of the township’s 13,000 households spent $20 a week at local businesses, the township could receive more than $13 million in additional revenue.
For April, the township has decided to promote Thornridge Hardware Supply Inc. at 8730 New Falls Road.
