Falls Township police have a warning for residents: do not leave your cars running to warm up in the morning.

Police made the warning after a rash of recent vehicle thefts in Lower Bucks County.

Falls authorities have dealt with two recent vehicle thefts and Morrisville Borough police have also had several, Lt. Hank Ward said. He added all the Falls thefts have taken place in the portion of the township closest to Trenton.

Morrisville police posted on Facebook that they have reports of 10 vehicles stolen in the borough since December 1. They noted most of the stolen vehicles were left running and unattended at the time of the theft.

Several reports in recent months have indicated that idling your car on cold mornings really has no benefit.
