Wolf Nominates 2 For Bucks County Judgeship

Gov. Tom Wolf has nominated two men to become judges in Bucks County.

Nominations for Bucks County Controller Raymond F. McHugh of Southampton and Private Practice Attorney Brian T. McGuffin of Langhorne were both announced Tuesday. Those nominations will have to be voted on by the state Senate.

The two would replace judges who are required by state law to retire at the age of 70. McHugh was picked to replace Judge Clyde Waite and McGuffin has been nominated to replace Judge Susan Devlin Scott, according to Pennsylvania Senate documents.

McHugh currently oversees the county’s finances in his current job, which is an elected position. His current term expires in 2017. McGuffin  currently has a private practice law firm based in Warminster.

Wolf also nominated former Lt. Gov. Jim Cawley, a Bristol Township native and Wrightstown resident, to a sit on the Temple University Board of Trustees.
